In a study conducted by researchers from Western Illinois University, people who score high in the scoring system called the Narcissistic Personality Inventory (NPI), known tohave more friends, often to tag yourself and diligently update the newsfeed.

Reported by Big News Networks on Monday (3/19/2012), the research background ofthe growing number of social networking users on Facebook is growing especiallynarcissistic and obsessed with self-image.

Recent studies have also revealed that narcissistic people tend to respond aggressivelyderogatory remarks about them and very often change their profile picture.

Numerous studies have even linked the behavior of narcissism with the use ofFacebook. But the study of Western Illinois University is the first time reveal new evidence about the direct relationship between Facebook friends with conduct disorderin a person's narcissism.

In his study, the researchers enrolled 294 consisting of Facebook users ages 18 to 65 years. Here, the participants were measured by assessing the level kenarsisannyaGrandiose Exhibitionism (GE) and Entitlement / Exploitativeness (EE).

GE assessment include absorption of the appeal, pride, excellence and exhibitionisttendencies of behavior. While aspects of EE include feelings worthy of respect and a desire to manipulate and take advantage of others.

Now, participants who score high on both these aspects generally want to be the center of attention.

The study results revealed that the higher the score of GE and EE person so the morethe number of their Facebook friends. Some of them have reached more than 800 people.
